Taking Care of Your Braces When You Travel Outside of Denver

The holidays are upon us, which for many adults and teens means travel. No matter what type of braces you have, it is important that you care for them during your travels to help ensure your treatment is not disrupted. Fortunately, taking care of your braces when you travel doesn’t differ at all from taking care of them when you’re at home. With just a few minutes every day, you can enjoy your travels without having to worry about any impact to your orthodontic treatment.

Caring for Your Braces

If you have wire and bracket braces, be sure to avoid the sticky stuff over the holidays. Maintain any dietary restrictions suggested by Dr. Rudman and be sure to maintain your oral hygiene routine complete with cleaning underneath wires and between brackets after eating.

If you have Invisalign®, it is important to remember that keeping your aligners in at all times, unless eating or cleaning your teeth, is an essential part of your treatment. Take care of your aligners in the way you have been instructed by Dr. Rudman to help guard against any interruption in the progression of your tooth movement.
